This blog started out as a mix of reviews and reflections on collecting art on a budget and the heady international emergence of Asian contemporary art. But life changes and my work in the arts has taken me deeper into what is described as social art, or the making of art with social purpose and in social ways.
So this is blog is taking a turn, to explore how art can play a greater role in changing society. I hope you enjoy it.
About me I have worked in the contemporary arts since 2004 and am currently the Curator Producer at Bedford Creative Arts. After graduating in English and Visual Art from University of Wales I worked in business for over fifteen years including a decent stint at Microsoft, before moving to Singapore and embarking on a second career in the arts. I now live back in the UK, based in Cambridge.
I’m a member of The Collective, a national network of art collecting groups who buy and share cutting edge contemporary art together. We welcome new members. www.the-collective.info
